La narrazione orale di Felicia Bartolotta Impastato è analizzata con gli strumenti della sociolinguistica e nel quadro teorico del concetto di "popolarità della poesia". A tal fine vengono utilizzati gli apporti scientifici più importanti a partire dalla secondo metà del Novecento per giungere alla considerazione dei fenomeni che interessano l'italiano contemporaneo, soprattutto nell'ambito delle relazioni tra norma e uso.
